The Gateway is meant to pull in NPCs from the world Vaera out of the Rift resides within, but, it's also been pulling in Player Characters from out of their own world! And just like NPCS, Player Characters can get pulled straight into the Rift. Players are more than welcome to play with this mechanic as they would like, and do not have to run this by mods for normal gameplay, just for canon updates, item requests, and permanent rift changes. We ask that anything that will cause widescale damage, be run through the plotting post first.

Getting caught in the Rift will result in PCs disappearing for a varying level of time. It can be near moments in game but years back home, or weeks of time in game. This can be used to explain away hiatuses as needed, canon updates, and the Gateway may even, on occasion, spit out items that are native to a character's world.

Just like with NPCs, the Rift will cause characters to experience internal changes. These can be temporary (temporarily turned into something grotesque, only for it to wear off with time) or permanent (a power change, physical change). Temporary changes do not require mod clearance. Permanent changes do require to be run by mods first!
